Beschreibung

Durch’s Jahr ist ein antiker und doch top aktueller Begleiter durch das jüdische Jahr. Ein Klassiker des deutschen Judentums, endlich wieder in deutscher Sprache erhältlich. Enthält auch Erklärungen zum Sederabend, Aufsätze zu den Feiertagen der Juden.

Rabbiner Herz Naftali Ehrmann wurde am 7. August 1849 in Michelstadt/Odenwaldkreis geboren und verstarb am 3. Februar 1918 in Lübeck. Ehrmann machte seine theologischen Studien bei Jacob Ettlinger in Altona. Und bildete sich beim Gründer der wichtigsten orthodoxen Zeitschrift in Deutschland, „Der Israelit“, Rabbiner Markus Lehmann in Mainz weiter. Seinen Abschluss machte er als einer der ersten Absolventen bei Esriel Hildesheimer, der 1873 in Berlin ein orthodoxes Rabbinerseminar gegründet hatte.

Von 1874-1876 amtierte er als Rabbiner in Karlsruhe. Dann wurde er 1876-1879 Lehrer in Kassel. Danach zog es ihn von1879-1885 als Rabbiner in Trier.

Ende 1885 folgte der in Trier erfolgreich arbeitende Ehrmann der Berufung als Bezirksrabbiner nach Baden, Schweiz. Hoch angesehen und verehrt versah er seine Aufgabe bis 1902, dann zog er 1903 nach Frankfurt am Main und 1912 nach Lübeck, wo er sich nur noch dem Schreiben und der Vortragstätigkeit widmete. Er verfasste zahlreiche Bücher unter dem Pseudonym Judäus.
