Die fünf Megillot oder Chamesch Megillot kennen wir auch auf deutsch als ‚fünf Rollen‘.
Das Judentum bezeichnet die sogenannten Festrollen im dritten Teil des Schriften: das Buch Ruth, das Lieder der Lieder, Kohelet (die Versammler), die Klagelieder (Echa)und die Esther Rolle. Sie sind den wichtigsten fünf jüdischen Festen Pessach (Überschreitungsfest), Schawuot (Wochenfest), Sukkot (Laubhüttenfest), Tischa beAw (9. Aw) und Purim (Losfest) zugeordnet.
Die Zusammenstellung der fünf Megillot ist seit dem 6. Jh. belegt. Sie sind unter anderem dadurch ausgezeichnet, dass es zu ihnen auch Auslegungen im rabbinischen Judentum gibt. So enthält der Midrasch Raba Midraschim zu den fünf Büchern der Tora und zu den fünf Megillot.
Raphael Breuer (geboren am 11. Februar 1881 in Pápa, Österreich-Ungarn; gestorben 9. Januar 1932 in Aschaffenburg) war ein orthodox-jüdischer Religionsgelehrter, Bibelkommentator und Gemeinderabbiner. Er war ein Enkel des grossen Rabbiner Samson Raphael Hirsch.
