Beschreibung

Das Buch Volk und Tora hat zusammen mit den Büchern Pessach und Jamim Noraim seinen Ursprung in der Arbeitsgemeinschaft. Rabbiner Bernhard Salomon Issachar Jacobson leitete diese in den 30er Jahren in Hamburg. An dieser Arbeitsgemeinschaft nahmen jeweils bis 50 Jugendliche teil, meist Mitglieder des „Brit Hanoar“, der Misrachi Jugend. Das Ziel dieser Kreise war, die erzieherische Arbeit der Jugendorganisation zu unterstützen und den Jugendlichen Unterrichtsmaterial zur Verfügung zu stellen.

Das Werk ist in 2 Teile aufgeteilt. Der erste Band hat die biblischen und nachbiblischen Persönlichkeiten, Geschichte und Literatur zum Thema. Es ist in einen Frageteil und einen Antwortteil aufgeteilt.

Der 2. Band behandelt die jüdische Religionsphilosophie und das Leben und Werk von Rabbiner Bernhard Salomon Issachar Jacobson.

Geprägt von Rabbiner Hirschs jüdischer Philosophie und seinem eigenen Studium der Philosophie, Psychologie und Pädagogik wurde er zu einem Rabbiner, der nur eins wollte – Jüdisches weitergeben.
Bernhard Salomon Issachar  Jacobson (1901-1972) wurde in Halberstadt, Sachsen-Anhalt geboren und emigrierte 1939 nach Palästina.  Er war mit Chana Weisberg verheiratet. Die Ehe blieb kinderlos. B.S. Jacobson war Rabbiner und Erzieher. Bei seiner erzieherischen Tätigkeit erreichte er Menschen jeden Alters – Schüler, Erwachsene und Senioren. Als er der Nazi-Hölle und einem KZ knapp entkam, wanderte er nach Israel aus und setzte seine Tätigkeit als Erzieher in vielen Institutionen über das ganze Land fort.
